THE ARMAGH PRIEST

THE ARMAGH priest reported to me recently - and the priest about who I, in turn, passed on a report to Archbishop Eamon Martin was the current PP of Keady.

In conscience, I could not ignore such a serious report and passed it on to Eamon Martin.

It is he who needs to investigate and publicize the outcome of the investigations.

In the meantime the person who reported it to me is adamant.

I simply asked for reassurances that the priest is asked to step aside while being investigated and that I would be given assurances by email or telephone that this had happened.

After 48 hours I have received no such assurances from Armagh :-(

I am afraid that like so much else there is a determined effort to cover up :-(

Archbishop Eamon thanks the priests for their continued ministry and service in the Archdiocese and wishes them well in taking up these new appointments. ANOTHER ARMAGH PRIEST SCANDAL?

I have checked the profile reported to me and the person with a profile name of XXXXX says that he is looking for intimacy.

This person has been on Caffmos on the following dates and times:

According to the young parishioner, the on line exposure/masturbation mainly takes place in the early hours of the morning.

The young man has supplied me with photographic material and claims he is also in possession of recording he took on his smartphone.

Furthermore I am aware that a journalist from a prominent Northern Ireland newspaper is aware of the “goings on” and is looking into the matter with a view to publication.

In the first instance, I am making you aware of this issue to allow you to meet Father XXXXXXX, have him stand aside and get help.

It has the potential to be another Rory Coyle situation if not worse.

I need instant reassurance by email/telephone that you will handle this situation immediately and seriously.

This is the second internet gay scandal involving a prominent priest of Armagh diocese.

Last year we had the Grindr scandal of Father Rory Coyle - Eamon Martin's Master of Ceremonies.

There are several other Armagh cases being talked about by the clergy of Armagh that involve "goings on" at home, on the internet, at World Youth Day and at Lourdes during pilgrimages.

Eamon Martin is either unable or unwilling to root out these problems.

It does bring his suitability for office into question - AND - he could be there for 20+ more years.

LATE LAST THE PRIEST REMOVED HIS PROFILE FROM CAFFMOS.

OBVIOUSLY HAS BEEN INSTRUCTED TO DO SO BY AMY AND HIS VG's.

BUT THAT IS NOT THE END OF THE MATTER!

THEY WILL NOT GET AWAY WITH COVERING UP.

HE NEEDS TO STAND ASIDE AND GET HELP AND AMY AND THE ARMAGH BOYOS NEED TO REALISE THEY CAN NO LONGER 'BURY THEIR DEAD" !!!

CARDINAL PELL - AUSTRALIA - CHILD ABUSE

Cardinal Pell in court today in Australia to face charges that he abused boys when he was a priest in Ballarat.

These days, the Roman Catholic Church is synonymous with child sexual abuse. We owe nobody an apology for saying this. It’s the truth.

Australian Catholic Church paid $213 million to 4000+ abused children.

Cases of child sexual abuse and subsequent cover-ups committed during the 20th and 21st centuries by Catholic priests, nuns, and members of the Roman Catholic Order have led to numerous allegations, investigations, trials and convictions.

The abused include boys and girls, so

“Catholic Church authorities made total payments of [AU]$276.1 million [US$213million] in response to claims of child sexual abuse received between 1 January 1980 and 28 February 2015, including monetary compensation, treatment, legal and other costs.”

Of the 4,445 cases the church received between January 1980 and February 2015 in the country, the report said the church managed to identify 1,880 alleged perpetrators, who included 597 (32% ‘religious brothers,’ 572 (30%) priests, 543 (29%) lay people, and 96 (5%) religious sisters or nuns. According to the report, 90% of abusers were male while the abused were also mostly boys.

According to the commission, sex abuse victims received AU$91,000 in compensation. The report by the commission also stated that the Christian Brothers group admitted during the hearing that both the highest total payment and the largest number of total payments is $48.5 million. It was paid in relation to 763 payments at an average of approximately $64,000 per payment. The Christian Brothers is a worldwide religious community within the Catholic Church.

Furthermore, the commission said the Jesuits had the highest average total payment at an average of approximately $257,000 per payment (of those Catholic Church authorities who made at least 10 payments). The Jesuit is an order of religious men in the Roman Catholic Church.

Critics, including those in the Catholic Church who want justice for the victims, say the system of payments is unfair and not all victims receive the same opportunities or compensation.

The Church’s Truth Justice and Healing Council chief executive, Francis Sullivan candidly admitted to local media that not all victims have equal opportunities or compensation.

“Even though the church has paid $270 million and it took a long time to get its act together to do that, there’s no doubt the system of paying people and compensating them is best done independently of the church through a national redress scheme. Some congregations pay far more than others. Some dioceses pay far more than others. It’s still not a fair system,” he added.

“It’s a picture of great unfairness and inequity between survivors across Australia depending on where they placed their claim,” Helen Last, Chief Executive Officer of In Good Faith Foundation, which represents 460 abuse victims also told the Reuters news agency in an interview.

Pell's trial begins today.

Legally he must be presumed innocent until proven guilty. Having watched his victims I came to the conclusion that there was a case to answer.

I hope that the Australian authorities will not succumb to the pressures the Vatican and the RC Church throughout the world will seek to exert to get Pell cleared.

4500 innocent children have suffered in Australia at the hands of bishops, priests, brothers, and nuns.

$213 million will not heal their wounds. Its an average of $47,000 each.

What price on a broken life and an innocent childhood?

FATHER SHIRLEY BASSEY - SOUND BROADCAST

This is a very interesting sound broadcast by Father Richard Geoghegan aka Father Shirley Bassey of Waterford and Lismore.

In all honesty, I am impressed by much of this interview.

Richard's honesty, his compassionate ideas, his empathy for women who cannot have babies etc.

However all of this compassion and sensitivity does not take away from the fact that Father Geoghegan is causing a major crisis for Waterford diocese, its priests and people and its Opus Dei bishop Phonsie Cullinan.

In this modern day and age many of us are quite comfortable with men expressing themselves as drag artists, transvestites, transsexuals, intersex etc.

But that is not the issue here.

The issues here are:

1. Is being a drag artist compatible with being a parish priest?

2. Is it ok for a parish priest to perform in drag at parish functions?

3. Is it ok for a priest to perform drag acts on pilgrimages to Lourdes?

4. Is it ok for a priest to do drag on national television at prime time on a Sunday evening?

5. Is it ok for a bishop to do nothing about these matters?

6. Is Father Richard's drag act just a harmless hobby or an indication of a more serious issue?

7. If there is a more serious issue does Phonsie Cullinan not have a grave duty of care?

8, Has Phonsie Cullinan exercised this duty of care - and if not - why not?

9. If ignored will this situation end in tears?

10. If it ends in tears who will be to blame?

In my book the buck stops with Phonsie Cullinan.

FATHER SHIRLEY BASSEY PP

VERY REVEREND FATHER RICHARD GEOGHEGAN PP - BALLYNEALE - TIPPERARY

ON RTE 1 ON SUNDAY NIGHT AT 8.30 PM WE SAW AN IRISH PARISH PRIEST PERFORM A DRAG ACT AS SHIRLEY BASSEY.

IT WAS THE THIRD IN A SERIES OF FRANCIS' BRENNAN'S TOUR OF VIETNAM WITH 12 TRAVELLERS - INCLUDING FATHER GEOGHEGAN.

A Blog reader had told us that we were in for a treat on Sunday from Father Geoghegan and we all waited with bated breath.

Would it be a new colourful shirt? A new hairdo? A new tattoo?

But the treat was to leave all those in the ha'penny place. Father Ricardo really surprised us - and with full female dress, jewelry he appeared as the famous singer Shirley Bassey.

Father Richard says that he is following the parable Jesus preached about not hiding your talents under a bushel but to go out and use them. He is saying that he has a talent for drag and he is using the drag talent that God gave him.

So, what, if any, are the issues here?

1. Is it ok for a parish priest to dress as a woman and do a drag act on public TV on a Sunday night at prime time?

2. Are people entitled to be shocked at this - or does people being shocked show that they are old fuddy duddies?

3. Is there any way in which RTE are exploiting Father Geoghegan?

4. Are there deeper, more personal and possible health issues involved here?

5. Phonsie has "A DUTY OF CARE for Father Richard. Is he fulfilling that role?

6. Is Phonsie being emotionally blackmailed by someone?

7. Is Richard's drag act Phonsie's idea of Theology of the Body?

It was sad. It is a complete mockery of what he is meant to stand for. But it's a common occurrence at weddings and celebrations he attends. He has a collection of wigs and high heels.
